At right, KATHLEEN RICE, Democratic congressional candidate (NY-04), calls for congressional action both to pass legislation prohibiting employment discrimination on basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, and to totally repeal the Defense of Marriage Act. Channel 12 news, of Long Island, is video interviewing Rice, who first toured Pride for Youth, a division of the Long Island Crisis Center, which is a program that provides services for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth and their families. Rice is in her third term as Nassau County District Attorney.
