Miss Wantagh Pageant 2012 winner Hailey Orgass receives trophy from Eden Held Miss Wantagh 2009 at crowning ceremony, a long-time Independence Day tradition on Long Island, held Wednesday, July 4, 2012, in front of Wantagh School, New York, USA. Since 1956, the Miss Wantagh Pageant, which is not a beauty pageant, has crowned a high school student based mainly on academic excellence and community service. Kara Arena, Miss Wantagh 2011sang two patriotic songs. First runner up was Alyssa Kelly, 2nd runner up was Paulina Renda, and 3rd runner up was Alyson Hopkins. Since 1956, the Miss Wantagh Pageant, which is not a beauty pageant, has crowned a high school student based mainly on academic excellence and community service.
