March 5, 2015. Merrick, New York, United States. A red and yellow fire hydrant has been partly cleared of snow during yet another snowfall on the south shore of Long Island, which is receiving the heaviest snow on L.I., with an accumulation of 6 to 8 inches expected. Many school closed due to hazardous travel conditions, and a Winter Weather Watch is in effect until 7 PM.
