Merrick, New York, USA. August 21, 2017. Using solar glasses they borrowed, two young men frm Plainview, NY, are observing the early part of the partial Solar Eclilpse at Norman J Levy Park and Preserve. Many people who came to the hilltop marshland, which is the highest point on the South Shore of Long island, didn't have solar glasses, but other visitors, strangers, offered to share the special safety filter glasses during the 2 1/2 hours from the very start to end of the partial solar eclipse.
