Miss Wantagh Pageant ceremony, a long-time Independence Day tradition on Long Island, is Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Wantagh School, New York, USA. Kara Arena, Miss Wantagh 2011, sang two patriotic songs. Since 1956, the Miss Wantagh Pageant, which is not a beauty pageant, has crowned a high school student based mainly on academic excellence and community service.
