KERI BALNIS, Miss Wantagh 2015, holds the trophy, bouquet of roses, and certificate award she received as winner of The Miss Wantagh Pageant ceremony, a long-time Independence Day tradition on Long Island, held at Wantagh School after the town's July 4th Parade. Since 1956, the Miss Wantagh Pageant, which is not a beauty pageant, crowns a high school student based mainly on academic excellence and community service.
