Miss Wantagh Pageant ceremony, a long-time Independence Day tradition on Long Island, is Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Wantagh School, New York, USA. Hailey Orgass, Miss Wantagh 2012, was crowned by Kara Arena, Miss Wantagh 2011, who sang two patriotic songs. At front extreme left is Ella Stevens, the Wantagh Pageant Coordinator . First runner up was Allysa Kelly, 2nd runner up was Paulina Renda, and 3rd runner up was Allison Hopkins. Since 1956, the Miss Wantagh Pageant, which is not a beauty pageant, has crowned a high school student based mainly on academic excellence and community service.
