A member of the Long Island Quilters Society, L.I.G.R.A., sits at a display of traditional quilted rugs on a table and hung on the wall in the Exhibition Hall, at the 172nd Long Island Fair, a six-day fall county fair held late September and early October. A yearly event since 1842, the old-time festival is now held at a reconstructed fairground at Old Bethpage Village Restoration.
